Performance
The 2022 Subaru BRZ lineup gets an all-new
engine this year. Replacing the old engine is a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder
engine that exerts 228-horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque. That delivers
23 more horsepower and 28 pounds-feet more torque than in previous years,
allowing you to enjoy greater sportiness and agility as you drive around
Portland. Unlike traditionally vertically opposed engines, the Subaru BRZ
models use a Subaru Boxer engine that uses horizontally opposed pistons, allowing
the engine to be placed lower in the vehicle, which results in a lower center
of gravity and greater stability when you're taking on tight turns.
You'll have the choice of a standard six-speed
manual transmission, if you enjoy taking full control, or a six-speed automatic
transmission with paddle shifters, allowing you to enjoy a smooth driving
experience, with the chance to take full control of shifting when you want it.
The Subaru BRZ is the only Subaru vehicle not to come equipped with all-wheel
drive. Instead, all models have rear-wheel drive that works hand-in-hand with
the optimal weight distribution and handling of all BRZ models, allowing you to
enjoy optimal control wherever travels take you around Westbrook.
Design
Exterior
Every new Subaru BRZ model is a sports coupe,
offering sleek, standout styling from front to back, highlighted by an
elongated hood and short back end that promotes aerodynamics and speed. All
models have side air scoops, a ducktail rear spoiler, and LED
headlights.
Interior
Inside the cabin, all Subaru BRZ models deliver
a comfortable, cockpit-like cabin that lets you relax and enjoy the ride. Cloth
upholstery comes standard, but you can opt for leather upholstery on Limited
trim levels. Most of the features are facing the driver, giving you simple,
convenient control of numerous features on the go.
Technology
This year, every new Subaru BRZ model gets a
host of new technology features. Every model comes with a prominent 8-inch
touchscreen display for the Subaru Starlink multimedia system. All models also
have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing you to connect your
smartphone device and enjoy hands-free control of it as you're on the go around
Saco, including easy access to calls, apps, messages, music, maps, and much
more.
Safety
Any Subaru BRZ model with an automatic
transmission also comes with Eyesight Driver Assist Technology system,
featuring adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking, lane keep
assist, and more, giving you complete confidence wherever you go.
