Pape Subaru is proud to be part of United Way of Greater Portland helping to improving thousands of lives by focusing on the building blocks of a stronger community: education, income and health.
United Way of Greater Portland continues to ensure quality essential services, like affordable childcare, mental health counseling and elder care, and we also bring people together to help identify growing community needs and work toward innovative solutions with measurable results.
United Way believes that when they reach out a hand to one, they influence the condition for all. How? People can GIVE, ADVOCATE and VOLUNTEER to improve lives in Greater Portland.

PAPE SUBARU DELIVERS DONATION TO LOCAL CHARITY THE SOUTH PORTLAND FOOD CUPBOARD
South Portland, ME, April 2, 2014 - Subaru of America, Inc. ("SOA") and Pape Subaru will present a check to The South Portland Food Cupboard who was a partner in the 2013 Subaru "Share the Love" event.
From Nov. 21, 2013 to Jan. 2, 2014, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru vehicle could select from a list of charities to receive a donation of $250 from SOA. This year, Subaru of America, Inc. donated $10 million to participating charities. Over the last six years SOA has donated $35 million to a number of worthy causes through the "Share the Love" event.
SOA selected the five national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels Association of America®, National Park Foundation and Teach for America. Subaru retailers could also elect to add a sixth, local charity and Pape Subaru selected The South Portland Food Cupboard as its local partner.
The check for $15,958.25 will be presented to The South Portland Food Cupboard by Frederick W. Pape, III, Dealer Principal, Owner Pape Subaru.

Providing essentials to those in our community through Maine Needs - Katie P
At Pape Subaru, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve. In partnership with Maine Needs, we are proud to have donated jackets, comforters, clothing, pots, pans, silverware, and other essential items to help families in need. Maine Needs is an incredible local organization that provides crucial support to individuals and families facing hardship. Beginning in a residential garage through a facebook page and expanding into a larger location, their incredible efforts allow them to distribute essential items like clothing, bedding, household goods, and more to those in need across Maine. Whether it's helping someone secure the basics after a crisis or providing families with items to make their homes feel more like home, Maine Needs ensures that no one faces these challenges alone. These donations, made possible by our partnership, are a small but impactful step toward supporting Maine's most vulnerable citizens. Maine Needs directly makes a difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community, we are honored to be a small piece in the impact they make in our community! 7th Annual Pape Children's Charity - Stacy L
This holiday season, Pape Children's Charity teamed up with Spurwink to help fulfill Christmas wishlists for local families in need. Spurwink provided the charity with the wishlists of 16 families, totaling 64 individuals, and Pape Children's Charity coordinated with its dedicated volunteers to gather and donate the requested gifts. The charity's efforts ensured that these families would experience the joy of the season, with each gift thoughtfully selected to meet the needs and wishes of the recipients. Through this partnership, Pape Children's Charity and Spurwink made a meaningful impact, spreading holiday cheer and support to those in the local community.
South Portland Food Cupboard Turkey Drive! - Annie L
This Thanksgiving, Pape Subaru partnered with the South Portland Food Cupboard to provide food for local families in need. The dealership collected turkeys, stuffing, canned goods, and other essential items to ensure that families in the South Portland community could enjoy a festive meal. Pape Subaru is honored to help alleviate some of the challenges many face during the holiday season. The partnership highlights Pape Subaru's commitment to giving back and supporting the well-being of the local community, making Thanksgiving a little brighter for those who needed it most.
Pape Subaru Loves to Help - Kay M
We are proud to share that Pape Subaru has recently partnered with Maine Health and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to make a difference in the lives of patients undergoing cancer treatment. Through this collaboration, we donated cozy blankets to provide comfort and warmth during their challenging journeys. In addition to the blankets, we received over 40 inspiring messages of hope from our customers and teammates. These heartfelt notes, many from cancer survivors, offer encouragement and strength to those in need. During our visit to Maine Medical Center, we had the privilege of touring the new floor with two remarkable veteran RNs. Their deep knowledge, unwavering passion, and over 20 years of dedicated service in helping patients battle leukemia were truly inspiring. The RNs mentioned that some patients might appreciate a change from their hospital attire. In response, Pape Subaru decided to create custom t-shirts featuring the uplifting messages of hope from survivors within our team and our valued customers. These shirts aim to bring a touch of comfort and hope to those navigating their treatment! We are honored to contribute to such a worthy cause and grateful for the opportunity to support those in need. Thank you to everyone who contributed messages and helped make this initiative possible. Together, we can make a difference.
Pape Subaru Loves to Learn - Abby S
Pape Subaru Partners with James O'Kaler Elementary to Support Education. At Pape Subaru, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community, and we are excited to share our recent philanthropic initiative with James O'Kaler Elementary in South Portland, Maine. As part of the Subaru Loves Learning promotion, Pape Subaru partnered with the local school to support teachers and students in their educational journey. Through a monetary donation, we enabled the teachers to purchase essential supplies needed in their classrooms, directly benefiting the students in their care. In addition to our financial support, we provided Amazon gift cards to our Pape Subaru team members, who assembled special gift bags for 10 teachers and their students. These bags were thoughtfully curated to include 10 pairs of headphones and various other school supplies, all hand-picked by our dedicated team members. This initiative was inspired by our inquiry into the specific needs of the school, ensuring that our contributions were both relevant and valuable. We are proud to support James O'Kaler Elementary and contribute to the success of its students and teachers. Thank you to everyone involved in making this initiative a success and for helping us give back to our community. Together, we are making a difference in education.

Tri for a Cure!! - Annie L
Pape Subaru is the transportation sponsor for Maine Cancer Foundation Tri for a Cure and has had athletes participate in the event since 2018. This year's event was held on July 14th, and it was record-breaking! Between sponsorships, and fundraising efforts from the 1,300 athletes, $2.13 Million was raised! 100% of the funds raised are reinvested back into Maine communities for cancer prevention, early detection, and access to care. Pape Subaru is always honored to take part in this event and looks forward to it, year after year!

We are thrilled to announce that Pape Subaru and Subaru of America have donated $22,000 to the South Portland Food Cupboard as part of the Share the Love event. This contribution will help provide much-needed support to individuals and families in our community who are facing food insecurity. Recently Pape Subaru had the honor of presenting the check to the South Portland Food Cupboard. It was truly heartwarming to see the impact that our donation will have on those in need. We are committed to giving back to our community and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Pape Subaru recently collaborated with Operation Warm, and Families Forward. Families Forward is a local organization that focuses on helping families transition into our community by leveraging their strengths and interests. Operation warm is a renown nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing brand new articles of clothing to children in need across the country. Together with Operation Warm, Pape Subaru worked to provide shoes for the children of these families. We believe every child deserves to walk with confidence and comfort. This charitable contribution aims to support and empower these families as they establish themselves in our community.
