2022 Outback Wilderness Portland Maine

Performance

The powertrains of the Subaru Outback are tied to the standard all-wheel-drive system to ensure the vehicle's performance is unbowed. The standard powertrain in the 2023 model of the Subaru Outback is a 2.5-liter engine with a power output of 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The XT trim, or wilderness, is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine generating 260 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to a continuously automatic transmission (CVT), mimicking an eight-speed gearbox.

You get an 8.7-inch ground clearance for easy navigation across different terrains. Also, this ground clearance is respectable because the driver can drive and handle well in adverse weather conditions or on muddy roads. The Wilderness model has a 9.5-inch ground clearance to ensure it is a go-anywhere vehicle and is mostly for off-roading. The new Subaru Outback has accurate steering and quality suspension to ensure discomfort bumps from uneven roads or rugged terrain doesn't affect passenger comfort.

The new Subaru Outback comes with more options for trim levels than ever before. You can now get a trim called the Wilderness with enhanced off-road driving capabilities. The Subaru Outback has some additional advanced safety features as well to provide you with more safety and value than ever before.

Interior Design

The materials of the new Outback are of high quality, with even the base trim receiving simulated leather stitches on the dash, door, and center console. When you enter the cabin, you will see an organized dashboard with a vertically oriented display at the center. The switches and buttons are nicely placed and have a high-quality touch. Different trim levels get unique color hues in the upholstery and all-weather floor mats.

You'd expect a wagon to be smaller than an SUV, but not the new Subaru Outback. This model has a longer wheelbase and general length, providing more space than you will find in compact crossovers. The cargo space is exceptionally extensive, relying more on its generous depth and width. Some versions of the Outback have unique roof rails that swing inwards to become crossbars for loading up stuff.

Technology Features

All Subaru Outback models come with an 11.6-inch touchscreen at the center console, except the base trim, which has two 7.0-inch touchscreens. The infotainment system has large icons for easier input and quick response time. All models are equipped with the Subaru StarLink Multimedia Plus System with improved on-screen controls for HVAC, audio, and other functions. The tuning knob and rotary knob are among the physical buttons on the dashboard, including climate settings.

The Subaru Outback has connectivity features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, an optional wireless charging pad, and built-in navigation. If you choose the top-tier trims, you are entitled to a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with 576 watts. Additional features include a Bluetooth hands-free phone, audio streaming connectivity, the SiriusXM package of HD Radio, Valet Mode, and over-the-air updates.

Trim Levels

The new 2023 Subaru Outback has eight trim levels: Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Wilderness, Limited XT, Touring, and Touring XT. The major differences between these levels are standard interior comforts, standard technology features, and driving performance.
